Naked Non-Binary Babes Reading: Futures in the Flesh

Felix Bear Lane of Open Barbers and avid reader Kyle Lee-Crossett curate a very special edition of Naked Boys Reading which will features readers transporting us to the future in a curated selection of trans and genderqueer visions and fantasies – 21 June will be NAKED NON-BINARY BABES READING: Futures in the Flesh.

Futures in the Flesh brings together a diverse set of writers who explore versions of reality, past and future, where gender and queerness grow and flourish in different ways. The short stories, essays, and excerpts range from fiercely excavated histories, mirror realities, and tender imaginings of growing old.

Together, these explorations of trans and genderqueer experience remind us that we do not have to accept the futures that have been set out for us.

POST SHOW KARAOKE HOSTED BY Dr Sharon Husbands – 9pm-2am!

About the curators:

Felix works with Open Barbers, a non-profit hairdressing salon and social space for all genders and sexualities. He’s interested in helping people feel good about their hair, and in building communities and support systems to help queer and trans folks overcome the oppressions they face.

Kyle is doing a PhD in Heritage Studies, looking at heritage as a process of choosing what from the past and present we want to bring with us into the future. They are interested in and have given papers on: transforming public access to heritage, queer and feminist archives, and science fiction.
